Eyecandy - wedding corset outfit

Months ago I posted some WIP pics of my commitment ceremony dress. Here are the pics of the finished thing!

Eye candy and infoCollapse )

Edit: Thank you all so much for your kind comments! I loved reading every one of them and I'm sorry I can't reply to you all (although I will try to answer any questions). Laura and I really appreciate your kind thoughts.

Oh I just saw your ceremony featured on Offbeat Bride! You both look stunning and the ceremony looked amazing.

Your post made me hapeeeeeee! My boyfriend wants to know if there is any significance to the Nintedo DS. He's a huge gamer.

Hi, we're both gamers but Laura's favourite hand-held console is the DS Lite, and she spent ages decorating her latest one (plus it fit the colour scheme) so we had to take pics with it! Both our maids of honor own DS Lites too so we made it a bridal party thing.

Let me amend: you both look stunning, and that is the coolest wedding ever. I love how you played with the bouqets for the 'maids (half pink and half white, half and half from your lovely partner's hand and yours).

LOVE. That. Cake!

You ladies look absolutely radiant! Congratulations on the happy day (may it be the first of many happy days ahead). I think your fit is beautiful and I love the bolero. You did an awesome job on the whole ensemble, and I love the colors and all the roses in your wedding.

As I said on the post of a friend who linked these pictures: Elaborate wedding photographs I can completely approve of are very few and very far between... but you guys managed it. You look spectacular. Mazel tov to you both, and may you have many happy years together.

That dress is gorgeous! Thank you very much for sharing ^_^ I can't help but smile when looking at your wedding photos :D

May I ask about the corset? Did you draft the pattern entirely from scratch, or did you adapt a pre-existing pattern? I'm getting married myself next summer, and would love to incorporate a corset into my dress. I love how the wide front panel on the one you made allows for plenty of beading ^_^

Also, that dress is so stunning it's hard to notice the faults ^_^ Very well done!

I drafted it from scratch but I don't think I did a very good job with it - I changed the pattern a lot but the V shape I was going for turned out nice (not sure it was structurally sound though). The point in centre front wasn't a nice neat one but since it's covered in lace you don't really notice. Thanks very much for your comments!
