Organizing workspace.... HELP!

I seem to be drowning in ribbon and elastic and lace trims. How do you store this stuff in your work area so it stays neat accessible and organized? I'm just looking for some new ideas. I've bought a "ribbon organizer" that is essentially two dowels that you can slide ribbon reels onto, but I don't get my ribbon on reels... I thought about using chunks of plastic tubing, but my hubby thinks that the ribbon/elastic/lace trim will just unroll off the sides if there is no "barrier". I've seen people wrap them onto heavy cardstock, but I'm not in love with this idea either. I know this isn't *really* corset related, but it sort of is... Help a sista out?
