I feel silly asking this question, but I figured I'd better go to the pros...
I have made three corsets, but each was a costume corset not intended for regular wear. They came out lovely, but it is time to move on to something better that can be worn regularly.
This will be my first time using coutil, which I bought at Lacis in Berkeley. This stuff is *heavy* and stiff!
I've always used the sandwich method of boning channels since I am not a fan of external bone casings, using a fashion layer and two heavy layers for strength and lining (between which the bones would be inserted). With this coutil I really don't want to use another heavy fabric for the lining, but I am afraid that anything else will end up with bones poking through.
What would you suggest for a lining, or should I use two layers of this coutil? I want to do this right.
Thanks in advance!
